Jonathan Ewer: The first book that made me aware of the cruelty of the practice of apartheid in South Africa. It also made me think about the religious life. Here was a priest, a member of a religious order, who had given his life to God, the church and the world. I was mightily impressed by that example, and I have tried to follow it ever since.
